I listened to this conversation between Simon Sinek and Trevor Noah and highly recommend it. They discuss the often-overlooked importance of friendship in today’s society and emphasise the need to prioritise personal relationships, communicate openly, and to be part of a supportive community.
I agree that fostering authentic connections helps combat loneliness and leads to more fulfilling lives. Our happiness is deeply intertwined with these relationships. They bring us joy and fulfilment, positively impacting our leadership, teamwork, parenting, and partnerships.
An effective leader recognizes the complexity of individuals and understands that their personal selves influence their professional performance. Personal relationships, friendships, make us a better person. If we are a better person, we will also be a better work-mate and leader.
